About 3 minutes from being happy with a finish on this, I realized that the face that I was happy with was on the same layer as the smoke, for which I had previously just applied a layer mask to, so the face that I thought I had was deleted and replaced with a derpy ugly as balls older version.
SO I AM SLIGHTLY FRUSTRATED.
